SBGi Duo Sell Out UFC Dublin in Two Hours!
The UFC returns to Dublin on July 19th for UFC Fight Night 46, and the eager fans snapped up the tickets in a mere two hours. Headlining the event is none other than SBGi Ireland’s very own Conor McGregor, who takes on Diego Brandao. SBGi Ireland’s McGregor had put out a challenge to UFC president Dana White that he would be responsible for the UFC’s fastest sell-out event in history, and while he came up just short in that regard (the fastest selling ever was UFC 127: Penn vs Fitch, for what it’s worth!), the obvious confidence, backed by thousands of Irish MMA fans, should not be underestimated. Conor McGregor, with the support of his team at SBGi Ireland, are putting Irish mixed martial arts on the map. He talks about his preparations in the article here:
If an SBGi fighter headlining a UFC fight card weren’t enough, another all too familiar name on the card is that of SBG’s Gunnar Nelson. He makes up the co-main event vs Zak Cummings, following his ‘Performance of the Night’ effort in his last appearance at UFC Fight Night 37. That makes it a SBG double-header in front of the sell-out Dublin crowd! The pair are currently training in Iceland as part of a 35-day camp. It is no exaggeration to say that the duo represent the new face of the UFC as it continues its expansion overseas, allowing the biggest MMA organization in the world to sell out Europe’s arenas, while representing SBGi the whole time. It truly has never been a more exciting time to be a part of SBG; the philosophy, team work and training approach at every level are now being proven on the biggest stage in MMA.
