Matt Inman Wins Welterweight Title
Made4TheCage Title Victory for SBG Mainline Fighter
While many eyes have been on SBG Ireland of late, as Conor McGregor prepares to fight for the UFC title in just over a week, across the Irish Sea, the team at SBG Mainline have been steadily building their own reputation as the pinnacle of their country’s MMA scene. Currently, Saul Rogers continues to impress on UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter, while just a couple of weekends ago, Martin ’50 Cal’ Stapleton won the BAMMA lightweight title with consummate ease. With Rogers featuring prominently on the reality show, and Stapleton emerging as the best lightweight in the UK currently, there can be little question that SBG Mainline, in Manchester, is a dominant force in UK MMA. Given current trends, few could’ve been surprised to see SBG Mainline’s Matt Inman have his hand raised in another title bout this weekend.
Matt Inman took on Tommy Quinn for Made4TheCage’s vacant British welterweight belt. Inman picked up a win after three exciting rounds ended with the judges awarding him the decision victory. The BJJ black belt won through an impressive stand-up performance, highlighting the diversity of the SBG fighter, in a contest that was hugely entertaining to those watching. After the fight, Inman stated: “It was a tough fight. Credit to Tommy because everyone seemed to enjoy it! “My career began in the North East so I know what it’s about. I feel a great connection to the people up here.”
The win takes Matt onto a four fight win streak, winning his previous three fights in 2015 by TKO or submission, picking up an FCC welterweight title in the process. Congratulations to Matt Inman and the entire SBG Mainline team for their incredible ongoing success!
