Davey Grant Fights This Weekend at UFC London

SBG Manchester’s Davey Grant Takes On Marlon Vera in UK

This weekend, SBG Manchester’s Davey Grant returns to action to take on Marlon Vera, at UFC Fight Night 84, at the O2 Arena in London, UK. It will be Grant’s first fight since 2013, having sustained multiple injuries since his UFC debut loss last time out. Prior to that loss, Grant put together an impressive professional record of 9-1, with all of his wins coming via a stoppage, and eight of those coming by way of submission! He will be looking to put the tough last two years behind him and return to winning ways against an opponent in Vera (7-2-1) who is also something of a submission specialist. Vera recovered from his own UFC debut loss to win last time out in August, 2015.

Davey Grant was interviewed by the UK Mirror last week and asked about the upcoming fight, his outlook for the coming year, and the work he has been doing with SBG Manchester and Karl Tanswell to prepare for his return to the UFC bantamweight division. Be sure to read the whole article, which is full of great quotes. It is exciting to see one of SBG’s athletes speaking so positively about his team and his upcoming prospects after a tough injury:

“Despite all the setbacks, I’ve still been living the life of a professional athlete and to write a list of what I’ve learnt would take forever. I have been constantly learning and improving in this time and I’m without a shadow of a doubt the best fighter I have ever been.

“I’m loving training at SBG and I feel like I’m in a great environment for learning and progressing. My coach Karl Tanswell is an absolute martial arts Jedi… There are some great guys on the mat every day and they know who they are”

Everyone in the SBG tribe across the globe is excited to see Davey return to action this Saturday, and to see him rise through the UFC’s bantamweight ranks in due course. Best of luck for UFC London to Davey Grant and the whole SBG Manchester team, and congratulations for all the hard work and preparation that has been put in to get from injury to being the best fighter you have ever been! Viva SBG!
